About Our Kratom

Introduction

On this page, we provide basic information about kratom from botanical, geographical and technological points of view, and describe the method of its processing and distribution within our company. The text is designed as an information overview of the raw material and production processes.

About Kratom

Kratom

Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa) is a plant from the Rubiaceae family, botanically related to the coffee tree. It occurs naturally in tropical regions of Southeast Asia. Currently, the majority of kratom available on the European market comes from Indonesia, especially from the Kalimantan region on the island of Borneo, mainly due to local cultivation, logistical and export conditions.

In some other countries of the region, changes in the legal regime for handling kratom have occurred in recent years, which may affect the geographical structure of the market in the future. However, these changes do not affect the current method of import and distribution of kratom to the Czech Republic.

Kratom is a plant in which more than forty different alkaloid substances have been identified so far. This information is the subject of professional research and laboratory examination, especially for the purposes of quality control and safety of the raw material.

Kratom Harvesting

The harvesting of kratom leaves takes place both on plantations and in areas of natural occurrence of the plants. The quality of the raw material is influenced by a number of factors, including the age of the trees, growth conditions and the method of harvest.

During harvest, emphasis is placed on a gentle process so that the trees are not damaged. Leaves are harvested individually or in limited quantities from each tree, allowing for their further growth and long-term preservation of the stand.

Drying and Fermentation

After harvest, kratom leaves are cleaned and further processed according to established procedures. Depending on the technological process, the leaves can be dried or subjected to a fermentation process.

Green kratom

Green kratom is dried in controlled conditions without direct sunlight.

White kratom

White kratom is dried with access to sunlight.

For other variants, fermentation takes place before drying, the length of which varies according to the chosen technological procedure.

Fermentation is a process in which physical and chemical properties of the plant material change. Subsequently, all variants are dried to a stable state suitable for further processing.

Grinding

After drying, the leaves are mechanically processed. First, coarse crushing takes place, followed by fine grinding using industrial grinding equipment. The result is a homogeneous powder form intended for further packaging.

During grinding, emphasis is placed on controlling the temperature and consistency so that degradation of the raw material due to excessive heating or uneven processing does not occur.

Packaging and Logistics

Import of the raw material to the Czech Republic takes place mainly by sea transport. After receiving the shipment, kratom is stored and further processed in our operating premises in the Czech Republic.

Packaging is carried out in suitable packaging materials intended for powdered herbal products, which protect the contents from moisture, light and external influences. Part of the packaging is the batch marking and other identification data necessary for product traceability.

Treatment and Laboratory Testing

Part of kratom processing is microbiological control and other laboratory testing performed by accredited laboratories. Testing serves to verify the compliance of the raw material with valid safety and quality requirements.

Before transport, kratom is treated at the place of origin using the ionization radiation method, which serves to reduce the microbial load of the plant material. Documentation of the checks and treatments performed is kept within the quality management system.
